Brick Guard Contact

Safety and testing of our product?

We randomly select our guards for testing and auditing by a third-party organisation adhering to world-class standards. This process ensures the quality of our guards, certifying that they are safe and free from harmful substances.

Be wary of inferior products that may contain traces of lead and other harmful substances. However, by leaving out these elements, the guards will yellow over time when exposed to direct sunlight.

What is your warranty period?

We warrant that our goods are free from defects in workmanship and materials under recommended use for a period of 12 months.

Please note that exposure to direct sunlight will cause the color to fade over time; however, this does not affect the durability of the guard. This is due to the decision to omit toluene and heavy metals from the manufacturing process, resulting in a more child and pet-friendly product.

We recommend using the white guard indoors, under cover, or away from direct sunlight.

Shipping, Taxes & Duties

Our goods ship the same day for orders placed before 12 p.m. Wellington time; all other orders are dispatched the next business day.

Orders are dispatched from Melbourne and take roughly 4-9 business days to reach New Zealand. Please note that there may be possible delays with mailing, which may be outside of our control.

Brick Guard will cover the cost of all tax and import duties.

Currently we do not ship to PO Boxes due to the size of the packages.

Are the guards easy to remove?

Absolutely! We have designed slimline and discreet corner guards with a 3M adhesive backing. This feature enables effortless removal without causing any damage to surfaces such as brick, render, steel and concrete.

Additionally, if you are mounting our corner guards onto a wet substrate or re-mounting them multiple times, an MS polymer silicone can be used for extra bonding strength. This silicone can be found in any major hardware shop. Simply apply it in a squiggly line down the length of the back of the guard, and you can guarantee that the bonding will outlast the lifespan of the guard.

Can the guards be cut?

Yes, the guards can be cut to desirable lengths/widths with a stanley knife or even a sharp pair of scissors.

Cleaning the guards

Corner guards can accumulate dirt, dust, and grime over time. Regular cleaning can prevent this. Use a soft cloth or sponge with mild soap and water to wipe down the surface. Avoid using harsh cleaners and scrubbing too much to prevent damage.

Can the guards be painted?

Yes, they certainly can. If you don't see your preferred color or want to freshen up your existing guards, we recommend using a water-based spray paint, which is available at most hardware stores.

Here's how to do it:

1. Clean the guard thoroughly before painting.

2. Apply the paint using long, sweeping strokes to ensure even coverage.

3. Optionally, apply a sealing spray over the top to lock in the paint.

Polyurethane guards may fade over time and lose their pigment. To address this, especially for outdoor guards, you can refresh them with a new coat of spray paint when needed.

Note: We have chosen to omit heavy metals from our manufacturing process to make them safer for users, especially around children and pets.

New Zealand consumer law

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality.

Disclaimer

Our guards serve as a cushion, softening stumbles, bumps, and falls by reducing the impact. While they provide a comforting layer of defense, it's essential to remember that eliminating risks altogether is always best.

Additionally, nothing can replace the importance of adult supervision around children.
